Recently, he has vowed that he will spread awareness amongst people on poverty, health and human rights. He toured Africa last month and raised funds for charity.

Eddie revealed through Tweets and blog posts that he is taken aback by the level of poverty, but is happy that the country is moving forward towards progress.

He has been posting heart wrenching photographs from his trip, like carcasses of cattle and many more such disturbing images.

Good going Eddie! Pictures will certainly attract the attention of the world towards such a situation. Eddie will also be filming his trip, just to show people that when you are enjoying the favorite drink in your cabana, there are people who are not getting clean drinking water, something that is essential to life.

The condition in Africa has improved a lot. Now, around 85% of Kenyans get better drinking water services and the literacy rate among young people has gone up to 93%.

With Eddie Izzard’s effort, the situation has gotten into the eyes of several and people will be more connected to the otherwise dark continent of the world.

Eddie Izzard, your disillusioned Wayne Malloy from the hit television series The Riches, recently took on a grueling triathlon. He came out to be quite an athlete, giving tough competition to all the other competitors.

The race was tough enough to scare away even the enthusiasts, but the 49-year-old marathon veteran and exercise junkie Eddie, put in his all to remind us of his famous 2009 marathon. This race composed of a half a mile of swim, 18 mile of bike riding and four miles of run!

Eddie hardly halted for a breath and braved it all. Let me remind you that this race was no kid’s play; it was more testing than a straightforward run-your-way-to-victory kind of a race.

Only long term and carefully planned training can make you capable to participate in it. It was quite evident that Eddie was thorough in his homework, as he reached the finish line and looked calm as always.

He said that he has trained only for five weeks! Good God!

His coverage of about 1,100 miles of England, Wales, North Ireland and Scotland, won him the Sportsmen of the Year award in 2009.

Ask Eddie his future plans, and he surprises us. He says that in nine years time, he is coming into politics. He, who is a self confessed radical centrist, believes in safety net and encouraging people to set up businesses.

He went on to divulge that he likes the business models of Pixar, Apple, and Ben and Jerry. He aims at encouraging kids to follow their dreams! He says there is imagination, energy, love and a positive heart behind his decision.

You are quite something Eddie, from a thief and nomad, to a superb athlete, to a politician. Quite a performer he is!

Yes, I am talking about Eddie Izzard, who is known for portraying the role of Wayne Malloy in the show The Riches, the one we all love to download and watch.

You must be taking the title as the theme of the next stand-up comedy show of this The Riches actor.

But no! This is not a part or the theme of any of his scripts, but he has shifted his focus to politics, considering it as a career option.

Are you getting sad thinking that once Eddie steps inside the arena of political games then he won’t be seen on the screen?

In between reports on his changed career preference, reports on him accepting his love for movies are also coming.

So, does that mean that we will be able to see him on the big screens even after he becomes the mayor of London?

It seems he is actually obsessed with the word politics and is trying to experiment, or may be he is trying to figure out what all can take place in the game of politics.

Eddie Izzard’s tour called ‘Stripped’, currently in France, at the Théâtre de Dix Heures, is doing fabulously well and all courtesy him.

The play takes the audience in a time warp and traces the history of civilization itself. He has performed his act in English, although erratically since 2008. He acts as a Nazi, a shark, and even God himself, to portray the rise and fall of different civilizations, but all in the lighter vein.

His act as Wayne in the Riches has already won him much fame and he is instantly recognized wherever he goes. He plays the head of the Malloy family and is the proverbial survivor, who has to deal with his life, post the imprisonment of his wife. He takes to theft and lives the life of a nomad. He cons and scams to make a living.

Hard to believe his comic avatar after his intense performance in ‘The Riches’?

The Riches may have been cancelled, but viewers have not lost touch with it.

You will be delighted to know that Izzard will be lending his voice for the forthcoming ‘Cars 2’ movie.

Pixar and Disney have been jointly searching for voice talents, who would be bringing the cartoon characters to life.

Recently, at the New York Toy Fair, the creators of the movie had made the announcement that Eddie Izzard and John Turturro will be lending their voices to the film.

With such great names associated with the movie, I think it would be worth watching and those who watch The Riches episodes online will definitely agree.

Turturro will be playing the role of the arrogant Francesco Bernoulli, an Italian Formula 1 car. This enviable car will act as an arch rival to the Lightening McQueen of Owen Wilson.

As far as Izzard is concerned, he will be the voice behind Miles Axelrod. Axelrod is an oil tycoon, who has turned into an environmentalist, after discarding his billions. He has converted himself into an electric vehicle, whose mission is to find alternative fuels.

Cool!

This role is quite contradictory to what he plays in The Riches episodes, isn’t it!

In this show, Izzard plays the role of the head of the Malloy family, who is an ambitious thief. However, when his wife is thrown into prison, he suffers an existential crisis!

It’s great to know that Izzard is appearing in diverse roles and was the lead antagonist in the earlier show. But for ‘Cars 2’, he has grabbed the protagonist’s role.

Let’s hope he does justice to the role.
